Sparrow Bakery Bend Oregon

Bend is a city full of unique character with a love for local and a food scene that mirrors these ideals. If you are looking for a restaurant that uses all local ingredients, be sure to check out Sparrow Bakery in Bend Or, because no trip to Bend is complete without a breakfast at Sparrow!

A Bend Institution

The Sparrow Bakery in Bend Or is one of the best places to eat in Oregon. They use seasonal ingredients to make from-scratch soups, sandwiches, and pastries which they serve at their locations in Bend, as well as at many coffee shops and cafes around town.

Since The Sparrow Bakery in Bend Or opened in 2006, they have been an influential member of the Bend community, and they have become famous for their signature pastry, the Ocean Roll. The Ocean Roll is made of croissant dough rolled up with a layer of cardamom, vanilla, and sugar. These rolls are made from scratch every day and are the perfect breakfast treat, but make sure to get to the bakery early, as it is not uncommon for the Ocean Rolls to sell out.

If you are looking for a heartier breakfast, we suggest trying one of their croissant breakfast sandwiches filled with perfectly cooked eggs, homemade aioli sauce, bacon, and arugula. Their bagels and scones are also a big hit.

If you are stopping by for lunch, try their most popular sandwich, the Monte Cristo. This sandwich is made with their fresh-made Miche bread and has a layer of raspberry preserve and their house-made onion marmalade. If you aren’t in a mood for a sandwich, they also offer seasonal salads that change based on what is in season.

Their restaurant on NW Crossing is their newest location, and it is located just outside of town on the west edge of Bend in the quiet Northwest Crossing neighborhood. This location has more seating and is usually less crowded than their Scott Street location. It’s a good spot if you are with a larger group of people.

Their Scott Street location is the original restaurant located in Old Iron Works Arts District near downtown Bend. The space is smaller than their NW Crossing location, but it has a lot of outdoor seating with heat lamps. This location can get busy, and there is usually a line, but it’s worth the wait. Both locations serve local beer, wine, and cider.
