One of Bend’s best annual festivals, the Brewfest is a gathering of beer lovers from all over central Oregon. It’s an amazing opportunity to try the best brews Bend has to offer, all in one place! Sip old and new favorites over the course of this three-day event, and vote for your top picks in the Peoples’ Choice Awards!
Party on the Waterfront
Every August, brew aficionados from all over Oregon convene at the Les Schwab Amphitheater on the riverfront in Bend. Breweries bring their newest and best experimental flavors for you to sample, and you can even talk to the brewmasters themselves as they pour their X-Tap specials for you in the Brewtality tents! Go ahead, ask some questions!
Fun for the Whole Family at the Bend Brewfest
That’s right, the Brewfest is family-friendly. Guests under the age of 21 are permitted until 5 pm each day, when the party becomes adults-only. Entry to the Bend Brewfest is free, and there are lots of great food vendors to sample from, so it’s not only about beer (and cider). Vendors offer perennial favorites such as hot dogs, pizza, noodles, and kettle corn. It’s a great chance to try some of Bend’s best foods along with the beer!
Souvenir Mugs for all you can Drink
Guests at the Brewfest who wish to partake in the drinking will purchase a souvenir mug, which comes with 5 tokens to start. Use tokens to try 4-ounce sample pours of whichever brews you choose; advance-planning types will want to map out their preferences ahead of time using the list on the Brewfest’s website. Specialty and limited brews will be on the X-Tap, with brewmasters nearby to answer questions. These brews are subject to change at the last minute, since breweries might decide to bring a new experiment to the festival!
Visit the Breweries
If you fall in love with certain flavors at the Bend Brewfest, consider spending an extra day in Bend to visit the breweries themselves. Bend has many craft beer producers who would love to show you around their home offices! The Bend Ale Trail includes 14 local breweries, and there are maps available at the Visit Bend offices, as well as through the Bend Ale Trail map. Happy sampling!
