We love all the seasons in Oregon, each one offering something different and wonderful, but there is something special about a summer in Sunriver. When your journey brings you here during the longest days of the year, you will definitely be looking for things to fill all those extra hours of daylight! This guide to your Sunriver summer Oregon journey is filled with excitement, fun, and the occasional lazy afternoon.
Day 1: You’ve Arrived!
The first day of any vacation is always filled with hope, excitement, and the exhaustion that accompanies travel, so after you choose your rooms, unpack your bags, and exploring the amenities of your Sunriver Pines summer Oregon sanctuary, you may not have much energy left for anything more than a good meal and a cold beer, both of which can be found not too far down the road at the Sunriver Brewing Company. When you find yourself on the patio, enjoying a juicy burger and a cold craft beer, you will know that you have arrived and will be loving every minute of your stay!
Day 2: Rested and Ready for Fun!
After a deep sleep in your home away from home, you will awaken refreshed and rested and anxious to check out everything our little village has to offer! Today’s adventure is designed for the daredevils in your family as you head to the Deschutes River’s edge and a visit to Sun Country Tours for a few hours of white water rafting! Offering short excursions that include a photo opp and an exciting ride over the rapids known as the Big Eddy as well as an all-day trip that stops for lunch and offers the ultimate in rafting thrills, this will be the perfect start to your Sunriver getaway!
Day 3: Retail Therapy
Souvenir shopping is an integral part of any vacation, and on a rainy day in Oregon, shopping (in any form) offers the perfect defense against the weather! The Village at Sunriver is one of our favorite spots, offering shops, galleries, places to dine, and a fun trackless train that will give your youngsters a summer thrill!
Day 4: FORE!
Sunny skies, moderate temperatures, and acres and acres of well-manicured greens, dotted with some spots of sand, a few ponds, and a selection of mature trees are what are on the agenda for day four. Woodlands Golf Course is a championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr and has been drawing golf fans to Sunriver almost since opening day in 1982!
