After the pandemic, we’ve all discovered that working from home can be a mixed blessing. The commute is wonderful, but our coworkers (whom we normally acknowledge as our children, spouse, and pets) can be loud and distracting! Not wearing pants during the workday is incredibly freeing, but we do sometimes take business casual to new lows, wearing the same sweatshirt more days than we care to admit. We miss our regular coworkers, the internet can be glitchy, and we miss the convenience of having multiple screens to do our work from, but the biggest positive on our telecommuting check list? The realization that working from home does not necessarily have to mean we work from our OWN homes! The internet has opened up our borders and as airfares are lower than normal at the moment, it is the perfect time to start planning your Central Oregon workcation.

The Stars of Central Oregon
2020 has been a rough year and we think you deserve some pampering, even if you still have to work from 8 until 5, and our Sunriver Pines Central Oregon vacation rentals do just that! Featuring kitchens that are the heart of the home, you may find yourself tempted to bake some cookies for your coffee break or wanting to create the nutritious and delicious lunches that will not need to be carried to your office in a brown paper bag! Dining rooms allow you to flip open your laptop, spread out your paperwork, and lose yourself in the unobstructed views visible through oversize windows strategically placed in front of the table at which you are sitting. And when it is time to hold a Zoom meeting with your coworkers, no one will blame you for bringing the party outside to the back deck, although some may experience moments of severe envy when they catch sight of the Central Oregon landscape peeking over your shoulders! On cooler days, a fireplace in the living room is a comfy place to mull over reports, and on lazy days when the thought of climbing out from beneath the warmth provided by silky soft blankets looses its appeal, give in to the urge to snuggle and check your emails from the comfort of your bed. The only rules on your Central Oregon workcation include doing enough work that will keep your boss satisfied and staying comfortable in one of our vacation rentals in Central Oregon while you do so!
On the Road in Central Oregon
All work and no play is a horrible way to live, and although you may be tied to your laptop for many hours out of your week, when the 5 o’clock whistle blows, setting you free, the roads of Central Oregon will be waiting for your return. Turn your compass north and make it your mission to complete the Bend Ale Trail, sipping your way through our second favorite town! The Bend Brew Bus allows visitors to drink safely, giving you a tasting tour of at least five spots and allowing you to earn a cool prize when they stamp your “passport!” For those preferring a more colorful tour of the town, Bend is an artsy town filled with quirky galleries and spaces that showcase “serious” art to appreciate and enjoy! The Red Chair Gallery at 103 NW Oregon Avenue offers a casual example of the talented pieces of local artists, while Peterson Contemporary Art is where you will find some of our favorite masterpieces!
Culinary Explorations of Central Oregon
Hungry travelers do not have much patience, so waiting to drive back to Sunriver is always a bad idea! Bend is filled with restaurants that will feed your soul as they fill your belly and include The Blacksmith Restaurant, located at 211 NW Greenwood Avenue, takes its name from the building in which it is housed and features some of the best stakes in all of Oregon. Built in 1923, this space was once the local smithy, something that is still apparent in the brick walls that surround the place. Pizza is always a good idea when traveling with family, and although one of our favorite spots, Boone Dog Pizza in nearby Sisters, is closed to dining in, picking up a hot and delicious pie on your way out of town promises to give you a meal you will never forget. Pub grub served by the Pig & Pound Public House never fails to please, and their bangers and mash could rival those of real pubs found all over the UK!
When Business & Pleasure Mix
We have often been told that business and pleasure does not mix well, but we like to think our Sunriver Pines Central Oregon vacation hideaways are the exception that proves the rule! Reserve your vacation rental in Central Oregon today and join in all the fun.
